Congratulations to Roxanna Panufnik and Iain Farrington – both closely associated with Twickenham Choral – who have been commissioned to compose for The Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort on 6 May.

Twickenham Choral has enjoyed a long relationship with both Roxanna and Iain over the years, culminating in two commissions for our centenary in 2022: Roxanna’s Wild Musick which we premiered in May last year and which you may hear again on 25 March as part of our Choral Extravaganza; and Iain’s exuberant Jazz Cantata, premiered in July 2022 and which received a welcomed second performance in September at St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Both pieces have secured a firm place in the choir’s repertoire.

We are thrilled that both Roxanna and Iain have been chosen to compose for such an auspicious occasion and can’t wait to hear their pieces!  Further details about the Coronation may be found here: https://www.royal.uk/coronation-music-westminster-abbey
