We are recruiting enthusiastic singers for our exciting 2025-26 under our new Music Director and Conductor, Howard Ionascu.
Our choir is made up of talented singers from South West London and Surrey who are passionate about choral music. Prospective members are welcome to come along and sing with us at one or two of our Thursday rehearsals. This is a great opportunity to see if Twickenham Choral is the right fit for you, and to meet our friendly and welcoming members. Whether you’re looking to improve your vocal skills, make new friends, or simply enjoy the experience of singing with others, we would love to hear from you.
After a couple of weeks when you have found your feet Howard will invite you to pass a brief voice test. A basic knowledge of music is necessary, but perfect sight reading or a voice like Pavarotti’s is not!
The next round of auditions will be held on Thursday 25th Septmber, 4pm- 6pm. Each audition will last approximately 10 minutes and include the following:
- Some vocal exercises and simple ear tests. (There is no need to prepare for these in any way).
- Singing a short piece of your own choice – please bring 2 copies of the music. Howard recommends choosing something you are very familiar with and no longer than 2 minutes. It does not need to be difficult or technically challenging. A hymn or folk song, for example, are entirely suitable. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your voice and vocal range in its best light. If the piece is accompanied, Howard will accompany you at the piano.
- A short piece of simple sight reading.
